The Oilfield Classics stemmed from the interest of 18 avid golfers many of whom are involved in the Oil and Gas Industry in one way or another and who came to Phuket on the 14th November 2008. Such was the enjoyment of not only the company shared but the fantastic golf courses played, that everyone decided we should make this a yearly event and invite many other likeminded Oilfield Related Colleagues to join in and so The Phuket Oilfield Classic has grown to be a regular fixture in the Oilfield Golfing Calendar in Asia.

The Oilfield Classics aim to support underprivileged children in the local communities through specifically targeting children’s charities that require support or assistance. Since the very first event until now, we have raised over USD$500,000 for worthy causes through all our events in Thailand. We now launch the event in Oman and this time we have the support of His Excellency Dr. Rumhy the Oman Oil and Gas Minister who will open the event and hopefully participate on the day. Mark Cameron (pictured above) in 2015 also made history by breaking a Guinness World Record by driving an electric golf buggy from Pattaya to Phuket, taking 32 days to do it and arriving the day before Phuket Oilfield Classic 2015 and raised over 2.1M baht (USD$70,000) for the charity that year.
